Boyd ISD Announces Lone Finalist for Superintendent

October 23, 2023: During tonight’s special board meeting, the Boyd ISD Board of Trustees announced Tom Woody as the lone finalist for the superintendent position.

Mr. Woody is currently in year 7 as Superintendent in Bisbee Unified School District (Bisbee, AZ); and prior to that, served for 11 years as Superintendent in Vernon ISD (Vernon, TX).

Mr. Woody holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from the University of North Texas and a Master’s Degree in Agricultural Education from Texas A&M University.

Mr. Woody is expected to begin his new role following the mandatory 21-day waiting period with a start date of January 8, 2024. The school board will vote on hiring during a regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, November 20, 2023.
